Minneapolis, MN (WDAY TV) -- Just in time for the latest cold spell, a few statues outside of Target Field are getting equipped for the weather.

The statues of classic Twins players like Rod Carew, Kent Hrbek and Tony Oliva are now outfitted with custom-knit sweaters, hats and scarves.

The attire came from the Twin cities' active knitting community, and sport the TwinsFest 2013 logo to publicize the annual event that happens next weekend.

Timing worked out pretty well for this, highs today in Minneapolis were in the single digits.
