Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- A Fargo prostitution sting sends one Minneapolis woman to jail, but brings light to a bigger concern.

The sting comes after police received reports of underage human trafficking in the city.

Fargo Police made one arrest after a prostitution sting at the Sleep Inn, but officers say they called more than 20 women, who were scared to show up knowing strings target hotels.

Lt. Joel Vettel/Fargo Police: "Even though we only made one arrest, the message is out there. The word is out and I think they understand that if they're going to take and come to our communities and try to commit the crime of prostitution, they're chances of getting arrested and put in jail are very good."

23-year-old Ebony Lee of Minneapolis faces prostitution charges.

Police conducted the sting after another law enforcement agency, as well as citizens, expressed concern about underage human trafficking in Fargo.

Officers searched ads in newspapers, and the backpages website but did not see any signs.

Vettel: "We were not able to make any arrests or find any underage females acting as prostitutes. Doesn't mean it hadn't been happening in our community, but certainly it has been a concern of ours."

Police say they will continue to crack down on keeping prostitution outside of city limits. The police chief is trying to introduce an adult entertainment ordinance for the city.
