Wilkin County, ND (WDAY TV) - There have been so many flu cases in the southern Red River Valley. One medical facility has run out of the vaccine.

Health officials at Wilkin County Public health says so many people were worried about this year's outbreak, there was a rush of people wanting shots. The department of health says it bought about 400 doses, but this year it just wasn't enough.

Debra Jacobs – Wilkin County Public Health: “At the beginning of the season it did not look like we would use all of our vaccine, and then once people started getting the flu it came a little earlier. Our vaccine then, we started getting a lot more phone calls, people coming in and we ran out last week."

The vaccine is still available in the area, at local clinics and Econofoods.
