Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The first 2 months of the college basketball season couldn't have gone any better for Saul Phillips Bison men's basketball team, a 15-3 record and a school best RPI ranking.

Then Taylor Braun came down awkwardly Saturday afternoon and broke a bone

in his foot.

Braun leads NDSU in points per game and is an all-conference player for the Bison, and his teammates say it's time for everyone else to pick up the slack.

Trayvonn Wright, NDSU Jr. Forward, says, "He helps us a lot, he's an all-conference player he's our go-to guy, we can have other people step, Brett, Kory make some shots for us, defense we should be fine, without Taylor we should be ok, be great to have him back soon."

Marshall Bjorklund says, "It's not one guy that makes our team, we have some young guys that can step up if it does turn out to be bad Brett play big minutes we just work with what we got."

NDSU begins it's toughest part of the schedule this week, road trips to IUPUI and first place Western Illinois this weekend.
