Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - With roads getting slicker by the minute, Fargo Public Works employees are out in full force, trying to keep up. They hit the pavement late last night and haven't stopped since sending out trucks filled with salt, sand, and ice brine before the storm.

As temperatures drop, ice is quickly forming on city streets and highways. Public works drivers are making roads a little safer after a somewhat quiet season so far, but they say a big responsibility falls on those behind the wheel.

Matt Fredrickson – Fargo Public Works: “Hopefully - there's not a whole lot you can do once you get on ice and once it's set up. The best you can do is just keep on top of it and treat it.”

Fredrickson says the crew will be working well through the weekend to keep roads clear.
