Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - With high rates of suicide and changing demographics, veterans’ healthcare is a high priority.
U.S. Senators John Hoeven and Amy Klobuchar visited the VA Medical Center in Fargo this morning. They toured the facility and discussed their efforts to address high rates of PTSD and suicide.
The Senators also spoke about the many new veterans coming home.
Senator John Hoeven – (R) North Dakota: "Post-traumatic stress disorder and suicide prevention. We're seeing more suicide among our veterans and our returning soldiers. We've got to get on top of this, we've got to get ahead of the curve."
The Senators also spoke in support of telehealth services for veterans in rural communities.
