Fargo’s Persons qualifies for PGA Tour event

KAHUKU, Hawaii – Fargo golfer Josh Persons shot a 70 during a PGA Tour Sony Open qualifier Monday to earn a berth in this week’s Sony Open.
Persons was tied with three other golfers, but he won a playoff to get the berth.
It will be Persons first PGA Tour event. Veteran Russ Cochran was one of the other three qualifiers.
The Sony Open starts Thursday.
