Oak Grove kids showing how big their hearts are

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Students at a south Fargo school have really big hearts and they were out to prove it today.

All the elementary students from Oak Grove Lutheran School lined up in the gym to form a giant heart shape for the upcoming Giving Hearts Day.

A photographer snapped a photo of the heart, which will then be auctioned off at the Oak Grove Spring Gala as a fundraiser.

Josh Kading, Oak Grove Elementary Principal: “It takes a while to get it all formed, and you lose the attention spans a little. We try to have the older ones move first to settle the younger ones down. Any time you're trying to wrangle that many kids, it's a lot like herding cats.”

Today's event also draws attention to the upcoming Giving Hearts Day and Dakota Medical Foundation's IMPACTGIVEBACK fundraiser.

It's coming up February 14th, Valentine's Day.
