Wahpeton, ND (WDAY TV) -- If you are looking for some of the most unique art around, created by a really cute artist, you only need to head to the Chahinkapa zoo.

The zoo's resident orangutan, Talukan, has been creating colorful paintings that will be on display at the Wahpeton Community Center this month and next.

Tal was already was an accomplished artist when he arrived at the zoo about 2 years ago. By the way he also plays musical instruments, beads necklaces and does puzzles.

Director of the zoo, Kathy Diekman, says, "but the painting is my thing with him, it's what I do for my enrichment with Tal. I get as much out of it as him - I know that for a fact. We don't paint everyday. We don't want him to get bored with the same enrichment and artists tend to paint when they feel like it. And he deoan't always feel like it so, sometimes he feels like to paitn sometimes he deoasn't it's a 100 percent voluntary."

Tal's original paintings and prints are for sale, with the proceeds benefiting the zoo's conservation efforts.
