Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- This time of year, it's hard enough to find a parking spot at the gym, much less a piece of equipment to work out on. But wait a few weeks, then, New Years resolutions start to slip.
"I usually come to the gym almost everyday."
Every single day, and it's intense.
Ari Taheri/YMCA member: "Maybe five nights a week I probably come at the end of the day also and I probably do another half hour of lifting and an hour of cardio."
But it hasn't always been this way.
Taheri: "I would gain some, lose weight, gain it back again, I was getting older and with my job I was feeling a lot of ache and pain everywhere."
Ari was younger, and a lot heavier before she made a goal.
Taheri: "I guess it all started because I was very heavy so I wanted to lose weight and I wanted to keep that off."
Sounds familiar right?
Shari Isaak/Fitness Instructor: "Today I've probably seen a lot more people than in December. I just think it's, that they are wanting to get back into healthy habits or even start healthy habits."
Adam is starting his New Years resolution.
"I just joined today."
And he has lofty goals.

Research shows that in just eight weeks, most of the people here will be no shows.
"be easy on yourself"
For regulars, it may be a little cramped now.
"be patient, haha"
"I lost a lot of weight, kept it off, and felt stronger and healthier ."
A new membership today, could mean a regular tomorrow.
"It's just part of my life now."
ast year, the Fargo YMCA saw over 600 new memberships in January. So far, they are on track with over 200 new gym members in just the last two weeks.
