8,000 fans are at the bison pep rally right now at a baseball park.
All anyone from Texas keeps telling us is they can't believe how many bison fans come down here... So it seems fitting that the pep rally needed to be held at a baseball stadium.
"It's better than a holiday it's the best thing ever"
"It's absolutely insane so many people here."
"When you saw the NDSU flag on the Texas sign u knew there were going to be a lot of people down here."
Things kicked off with the gold star marching band, and then the place went nuts when thunderstruck and the bison opening clip came on the big screen... They stayed loud all night.
Jayme McGillis/NDSU Yell Leader: "This is crazy I mean I knew we traveled well but 8,000 tickets sold out just like that this is awesome"
"It was shoulder to shoulder last year and this is the same thing shoulder to shoulder a lot more spread out but that's awesome."
The sellout crowd of more than 8000 people made tonight the largest January event ever held at the ball park.
The atmosphere resembled a rock concert more than a pep rally.
Milo Miles/Texas: "Go bison go bison go green and gold go bison"
Chris Bolton/Fargo: "What a party, this is so much fun we are all one big family."
And the louder this crowd gets tonight the more they'll help the bison tomorrow... We say that because if you look out over centerfield that's embassy suites, that right there is where the Sam Houston players are staying -- so they got a great view of tonight's party.
