MINNEWAUKAN, N.D. (AP) — A new $11 million school in the flood-plagued North Dakota town of Minnewaukan is open.
The Grand Forks Herald reports that about 300 students filed into the facility for the first day of classes there on Thursday. The school replaces an aging, crowded facility a couple of miles away that had been threatened for years by the flooding Devils Lake.
The new school was funded by the state and federal government.
