MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A flower shop has opened in Minot at a former credit union building that was devastated by flooding.

The Minot Daily News reports that Flower Central is flourishing at the location that once was the site of GEM Federal Credit Union. The credit union moved to higher ground in town that once was the site of a bank and a Mexican restaurant.

The Souris River flooded more than 4,000 homes and businesses in Minot in the summer of 2011.

An electronic sign at the old credit union that survived the flood continues to display time and temperature for the new flower shop.
