Fergus Falls, MN (WDAY TV) -- A deserving Fergus Falls family is celebrating the new year, in a new home.
We first brought you the story of Isaiah Lawson in September. He's batting an aggressive stage 4 "neuro-blastoma" cancer, and the home he lived in wasn't safe for his condition.
To the rescue came the Fergus Falls community. And the Lawson family was given this new home for Christmas. Community members and local businesses raised 80-percent of the cost for the house.
The home is one of 13 special requirements Isaiah needs to keep him healthy and cancer free.
And a huge relief for his parents after an extremely trying year.
Christine Lawson, Isaiah's mother, says, "our resolution is to just be happy, to be thankful for all we've been given and enjoy this beautiful new home we've been given."
Isaiah has 3 rounds of treatment left, and then needs to pass 3 tests over a 9 month span before doctors can officially call him cancer-free.
