Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Flames break out in a Fargo apartment building, sending one woman to the hospital.
It didn't take long for the flames to spread. In even less time Fargo crews were on their way.
Carolyn Veck is a near by neighbor, on 6th Avenue North.
Carolyn Veck: "i know a few of them in here, yes I do, but not the one in 801"
Waiting and watching for these men to fight the fire.
Steve Balstad/Asst. Fire Chief: "crews are overhauling, ventilating the building and they're calling in an investigator to come check it out."
The call came in around eleven.
"we've probably been here about 10-15 minutes."
And workers put it out before twelve. But not before one woman was taken to the hospital.
"she singed her hair..."
Now this mattress erupted in flames, but the fire was contained to this apartment right here.
"two floors above."
Daniel, lives even closer, he called 911.
Daniel Smiaticki: "I heard the fire alarm, I didn't know where it was coming from then I opened the door to the hallway and saw all the smoke."
The damage is doen, but the work is only beginning.
"maybe it was more like rubber or something."
"I knew it would be ok."
The investigator is listing the fire as "undetermined."
