Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- A precautionary warning to lock your doors. A couple of burglars walked into a south Fargo home early this morning. The homeowner woke up and the masked men fled.

It happened here on the 2800 block of Park View Drive just before 3 a.m. The homeowner woke up to a noise and went down to his basement to investigate."

There, he found two men, six feet tall and wearing ski masks. They fled.

Police showed up with canine units and followed tracks in the snow until the trail ended.

It appears the two got away in a car. The homeowner said he forgot to lock his door.

Sgt. Jason Nelson/Fargo Police: "It's important, even though Fargo is a very safe community, that we still lock our doors at night. It's not uncommon for drunk people to wander into homes that are unlocked, or in this case, someone with criminal intent."

Police say it appears nothing was stolen from the home. No other burglaries were reported. No arrests have been made.
