Police investigate Wild Rice Bar burglary

(WDAY TV) -- The Cass County Sheriffs department is investigating a burglary at the Wild Rice Bar.

It's extremely early in the investigation, but officers say a suspect broke in to the bar around 2 this morning. The suspect escaped with cash from pull tab machines after getting inside by forcing open a window.

Officers are in the process of reviewing surveillance video, and say the suspect spent less than three minutes inside.

Sgt. Tara Morris with the Clay County Sheriff's Office says, "about, a little after 2 this morning, deputies were dispatched to the wild rice bar in response to an alarm that was tripped a number of times. Upon arrival, they did not encounter a suspect, however someone did make entry into the Wild Rice bar."

The Sheriff's office says crime usually spikes around the holiday season.
