Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- People came together for a night full of hope and healing at a church in Fargo.

The Plymouth Congregational Church held a "service of the longest night."

for people who are grieving this holiday. Worshipers came to hear inspiring holiday music and uplifting bible passages from the pastor.

The goal of the service was to provide comfort and support for those who have a hard time finding joy during Christmas.

Rev. Grace Murray says, "the holidays are painful for some people so through contemplative music and some of the scriptures that talk to the hurts in the world, we try to bring some hope and healing."

The church holds a similar service each winter solstice.
