Gold Krugerrand appears in a Salvation Army red kettle

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- They've struck again. Someone has donated a gold krugerrand in one of the Salvation's Army Red kettles, for the 10th year in a row.
The South African gold coin is valued at about 16-hundred dollars. It was found in a red kettle Wednesday, at Scheels on 45th street.
On Monday, a quarter-ounce gold coin was found at the Northport Hornbacher's kettle. That's valued at about 400-dollars.
Captain Bill mealy says they're grateful for the donations. The Salvation Army is 60-percent of the way toward its 825-thousand dollar goal this year.
