NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) — A man who barricaded himself into a North Dakota home prompting the lockdown of several local schools is in police custody.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that Michael Jason Smith came out of the house shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday.
Smith was wanted in Colorado on charges mostly dealing with narcotics. He was at a home in New Town when law enforcement officials arrived, and he barricaded himself in the home.
Schools in the community went on lockdown during the incident.
FBI spokesman Kyle Loven says Smith may now face charges in North Dakota and Colorado.
