Grand Forks Police Arrest Man After Shots Fired Early Saturday Morning

Grand Forks police have arrested a man on weapons charges after a report of shots fired early Saturday morning. Police say officers pulled over a vehicle with two occupants near the scene of the shooting.

A routine traffic stop in Grand Forks leads to a larger crime than police initially suspected.

It spans two cities.

Theodore Henry the third, of Minnesota, faces six charges including reckless endangerment and having stolen property.

Police responded to a call of gunshots at 2002 Dyke Avenue around 4:45 a.m. Saturday.

They pulled over Henry for driving drunk.

Police ended up finding a handgun in the vehicle, which turns out to have been stolen from a vehicle in Fargo.

"The vehicle was seen leaving the area by a border patrol agent and they eventually stopped the vehicle and recovered a stolen handgun and made an arrest," Sgt. Tom Laughlin of the Grand Forks Police Department said.

Henry admits to firing several shots into the air.
