Local businesses pay it forward to the Fargo YMCA

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Each year, employees of Bell State Bank and the United Way pay it forward.

This year, giving children an early holiday gift. Today, a 75-hundred dollar check was handed over to the Fargo YMCA, providing their early childhood education program with books, supplies and a better education.

The United Way says this program has a big impact.

Sher Thomsen with the United Way says, "we know giving a child a book creates a spark for their educational journey. So this is such a wonderful partnership."

With the donation, the United Way is less than a million dollars away from its 5.1 million dollar goal this year.
