Surveillance photos from bank robbery are released quickly

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Surveillance photos from that robbery were in the hands of the public less than an hour after the crime happened.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Surveillance photos from that robbery were in the hands of the public less than an hour after the crime happened.

Police say exactly when they release photos varies with each event, depending on the timing, quality, and number of photos available. Photos from past armed robberies such as Sunmart's took a couple days to come out at Gamestop, it took almost ten.

Sometimes, officers decide not to release photos. It all comes down to what they believe will help solve the crime the fastest.

Lt. Joel Vettel with the Fargo Police says, "certainly the camera system that was utilized last night, certainly had a high resolution. It allowed us to capture that information very quickly and within 45 minutes get that information out to the public."

Police say there are still more photos and videos to sift through.
