Rothsay, MN (WDAY TV) - A $24 million bond referendum for a new school in Rothsay fails. It was defeated tonight by 12 votes, 289 to 277.
The referendum was for construction of a new 100,000 square-foot school building.
This is an artist’s rendering of what it would have looked like. The current Rothsay school was built in 1903.
The superintendent says they're running out of space and there are serious code violations. For the owner of a $100,000 home, property taxes would have increased by $66.
