Reading program kicks off in Grand Forks

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- The holiday spirit is in full force at the Grand Forks Public Library.

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- The holiday spirit is in full force at the Grand Forks Public Library.

It hosted the Winter Reading Program Kick-off Party today. The Winter Reading Program is for children in grades K-6. Student athletes and the UND athletic department volunteer their time to read.

Aaron Stefanich, children's librarian, says, "reading is really important, supporting reading supporting the schools when they have their break to have kids read over the break."

Children who read 6 hours get a free ticket to a UND women's basketball game.
