Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- Today, a moment of sheer joy for a small-town, North Dakota girl battling a life-threatening illness.
Aubrianna Hillard's love for a major motion picture is now reality, thanks to Macy's and Make-A-Wish.
Beverly Hilliard/Aubrianna's Grandma: "This is so incredible just to let Aubrey have a special day."
Christmas came early for a 4-year-old North Dakota girl..nicknamed princess.
Macy's and the Make-A-Wish Foundation teamed up to get Aubrianna Hillard a tank filled with colorful fish -- straight out of the movie Finding Nemo.
Grandma Hilliard: "She really relaxes to that and you know it gives her good eye movement because she can see the fish swimming around. That's so incredible for her to have that experience."
Aubrianna was born with a rare condition that causes her seizures, developmental delays and the need for a feeding tube. She's also unable to talk.
Grandma Hilliard: "Things are a little tougher for her, we try to focus on what she can do rather than what she can't."
And now she'll be able to do a little more...
Grandma Hilliard: So she's going to have a therapeutic chair so she can sit and look at her fish tank.
Crystal Bailly-Dale/Macy's Manager: "Macy's is just trying to encourage people to be generous and compassionate and look at the holidays as a time to do all of these things."
The little girl with big blue eyes also got to meet the big guy himself...
Bailly-Dale: "It's heart warming, it brings a tear to your eye and it makes you feel good."
Grandma Hilliard: "To see her get her wish and to be treated like the special little girl that she is it's so very incredible, and she definitely deserves all of it, and more."
Children can drop off letters to Santa at their any Macy's store. For every letter received, Macy's donates $1 to the Make A Wish Foundation.
