Space map shows enormity of oil country

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - An interesting picture from NASA to show you tonight, that really shows the growth in oil country, in North Dakota.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - An interesting picture from NASA to show you tonight, that really shows the growth in oil country, in North Dakota.

Take a look. It's taken from space and shows the city lights.

In the circle is the Bakken Oil Field in North Dakota, much brighter than Fargo and Minneapolis and bigger in size than Denver or Las Vegas.

Williams County in northwest North Dakota ranked third in the nation of fastest-growing counties. North Dakota could surpass Alaska within a year as the nation's number two oil producer, behind only

Texas.
