Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- No snow? No problem. The Fargo Park District has a solution to tackle this season's low snow totals, saying it's taking a toll on sledding.

Tonight, the Fargo Park Board is voting on installing snow-making machines at Dike West. They could be set up later this week.

Both the City of Fargo and the Park District have been gathering donations and researching low-cost options. City Commissioners say we only have one true "sledding" hill, so it's worth it.

Brad Wimmer, Fargo City Commissioner, says, "Last year, about 75 percent of the year, we had no snow. This year it looks like we have a little snow, but not enough yet to cover the hill. They need about a foot base."

The project would cost 6 thousand dollars a year.
