Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- 2 juveniles, who assaulted an officer and escaped from youth corrections center in Mandan are on the loose, and considered violent and dangerous.
They were among 5 teens who escaped Monday. 3 were caught in south Fargo.
Authorities say the 5-teens, Emmanual Hunter, Terrick Kern, Kyran Johnson, Donnie Lee, Jr., and Bobby Devine assaulted a corrections officer, and stole the officers car. It was later found abandoned in Minot, where 2 of the teens are from. The corrections officer was not seriously injured.
About noon in Fargo today, Police say they noticed a mini-van driving erratically coming off the interstate. Police didn't pursuit, but they did follow.
The juveniles lost control of the vehicle in the 18-hundred block of Rose Creek Parkway, near Seasons. They hit a mailbox, then ran over a tree, disabling the van. They took off on foot, but were later caught.
Dale Boeddeker, homeowner, says, "Just heard the noise and saw them bail out of the vehicle, and running across the yard."
Joel Vettel/Fargo Police Dept.: "One of those situations where officers did the right thing. Were able to get to the area, locate the vehicle, made the good choice not to escalate the situation any further than it was."
The 2 other juveniles are still on the run. Authorities don't know where they are. They're considered violent and possibly armed. The 3 that were caught, are being returned to the Mandan facility, and face additional charges.
