Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - He was one of the top players in Minnesota all season long and had two former Bison standouts coaching him so it seems fitting that Chase Morlock verbally committed to play football at NDSU next season.

Morlock had a season for the books in leading the Spuds to the state quarterfinals.

He was selected a second team all-state running back, Morlock is 6'0, 200 pounds he racked up 1,820 yards on the ground and 30 touchdowns for the Spuds but staying close to home wasn't always top priority.

Chase Morlock, Verbally Committed to NDSU: “I mean right away I was looking to get away from home, and I just kept getting drawn back here. The Bison felt right, went and visited the camps couple times, felt comfortable. Look forward to being a Bison, going in as a running back see what I can do there, whatever that gets me on the field fastest I'll end up playing. Great program. Know they're going to be good for a long time, help them win national championships.”

Morlock becomes the 10th commitment for the class of 2013 and the first Spud to go to NDSU since Lance Larson in the early 90's.
