UND hockey picks up some big points this weekend

(WDAY TV) -- Every point counts come February and March, and UND picked up 3 big ones over the weekend against Denver.

North Dakota out shot the first place Pioneers 66-43 over the two games,

and capped off the series with a 6-3 victory on Saturday. The team feels this could be the kind of the series that sparks a run.

Rocco Grimaldi says, " If you look at the big picture I thought we played a pretty solid series this weekend. Obviously, we didn't get the full result we wanted. But, we got a pretty good piece of the pie there. We're looking to go to Michigan Tech next week and get four points there and just move into Christmas break with a chip off our shoulder."
