NDSU officials prepare for rare Friday night game

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota State University officials are preparing for a rare Friday night football playoff game.

The Bison are scheduled to play Georgia Southern at 7 p.m. Friday in the semifinals of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

The game is scheduled a day earlier than the traditional football Saturday to accommodate TV. It will be shown on ESPN2.

NDSU, the defending FCS champions, held off Wofford 14-7 Saturday in a quarterfinal game at the Fargodome.

Sam Houston State, last year's runner-up to the Bison, will face Eastern Washington in the other FCS semifinals.

Tickets for the NDSU-Georgia Southern game were to go on sale at noon Sunday.
