BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A private Catholic school and a public university are teaming up to enhance education programs in western North Dakota.

The University of Mary in Bismarck is partnering with Dickinson State University to offer master's degree programs in education, business, nursing and counseling, starting in March. People in western North Dakota can earn a master's degree from Mary, a private Catholic school, through the public Dickinson State.

The schools also are exploring the idea of a program in which students who earn four-year undergraduate degrees at Dickinson State could enter into a fifth year with Mary to complete a master's degree.

The DSU collaboration is Mary's fourth such initiative within the past year. Mary also has agreements with Bismarck State, Arizona State and Alexandria Technical and Community College in Minnesota.
