Valley City, ND (WDAY TV) -- She admits, it's an unusual collection. But one fitting for the holiday season.

A woman in Valley City has hundreds of Nativity scenes in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

Sara Anderson-Moore started collecting Nativity scenes in 1992. Since then, her collection has grown to more than 300 sets. They come from all over the world - Haiti, Belize, Hawaii.

She keeps several on display throughout the year, the rest neatly boxed up in the garage. Many are gifts from family and friends, others, she seeks out in stores and catalogs.

But Sara says they all hold a special place in her heart.

Sara: "When I look at one I see kind of a work of art, actually. Between what they're made out of. They all depict the same thing, and it's just how they're depicted is what I find so fascinating about them."

Sara says her dream is to someday have her collection on permanent display, just not in her house! Sara's most recent showing of her collection was at Our Savior's Lutheran Church last weekend.
