Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The Bison defense has somehow become better than they were in 2011 allowing just 12 touchdowns for the year, and only three on the ground!
They're stiffest test comes this Saturday, facing a Wofford team that averages 350 rushing yards a game!!
The biggest key for the defense, is the "alley" player, he's the guy that is responsible for tackling the running back, Colten Heagle was that man last year against Georgia Southern racking up 15 tackles.
Christian Dudzik, NDSU free safety, says, "When I learned this past Saturday that we would be playing Wofford, saw him, have to be what you did last year, I got pretty excited about it, he's been in meetings, and he's been helping me right off the bat."
Ryan Drevlow, NDSU defensive tackle, says, "If you look for the ball, that's when you're in trouble, its more assignment football, I tackle the dive, doesn't matter if he has the ball or not, I gotta tackle it, if i dont they'll crease us for 20 yards it's more everyone does their job, dont look for the glory, do your job and we'll be just fine."
And a reminder we have you covered all day Saturday starting with the Pregame show at noon on wday.com, followed by the live blog at 12:30, we'll also be live postgame at the dome at 6.
