Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - No more standing out in the wind and snow while waiting for the buses for students at MSUM.

MATBUS received $100,000 through a special grant to upgrade shelters in Moorhead that were 30 years old.

On 14th street, near MSUM's dormitories, a new $53,000 dollar shelter is going in that will feature a state of the art kiosk, lights and heat.

Lori Van Beek, MATBUS: “Well the kiosk tells you when the bus will arrive in real time. So you are not standing out there ten minutes waiting when you know the bus is still six blocks away. Usually the time is short but you will know when the bus will come. But if you got out there at the wrong time or if you've never ridden before you can see right away when the bus is going to come.”

The new shelter should be complete later this month. Two new, but more basic shelters were put up on the 11th street one way near MSUM and another spot near Concordia.
