West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - West Fargo's growth is literally putting its police station in a tight spot.
City commissioners reviewed 4 options for a new police station. They range from $6-8 million.
The addition would be connected to the current site, built to the East and South of the facility.
The preferred option by some key players, including the chief, is the cheapest.
It'd be a one story building, with the ability to add a second floor.
The Chief says the 2nd floor would be needed in 5 to 10 years, but more space is needed now.
Chief Arland Rasmussen, West Fargo Police: “We're very crunched now. I want to put another investigator. I'm allotted another spot for an investigator and we just do not have enough room for physically putting in another desk in.”
The commission did not pick an option tonight, but started the process of hiring an architect firm.
At best case scenario, construction starts in late spring.
