Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - An update tonight to a story we brought you over the weekend, a stiff but friendly competition for a great cause.

The mascots from NDSU, MSUM and Concordia spent Sunday as Salvation Army bell ringers outside the Fargo Scheels.

NDSU's mascot "Thundar" got the most donations at Scheels Saturday, raising $997 during the Mascot Challenge.

MSUM's Scorch finished 2nd at $521, and Kernel, Concordia's mascot, raised $392.

The real winner was the Salvation Army. More than $1,900 dollars was raised for its Red Kettle Campaign.
