Valley City, ND (WDAY TV) -- No one in North Dakota or Minnesota took home the biggest Powerball jackpot of all time. But someone in Valley City won 10-thousand dollars in Saturday's drawing. The trouble is: no one has claimed it.

Chad Lahlum is double-checking his Powerball tickets at Leevers Foods in Valley City, hoping for big bucks. A 10-thousand dollar ticket was sold here, but no one has turned up with the winning numbers.

Chad: "It was pretty cool, pretty cool to find out that somebody in town won the $10,000."

As luck would have it.

Machine: "Congratulations! You're a winner!"

But not so fast..

Chad: "One dollar!"

Nope, he didn't win the 10,000

Chad: "I was hoping so, but it didn't work out like that."

The grocery store checkouts were buzzing with people asking about that unclaimed cash.

Jessica Erickson/Cashier: "Every day, people come in and they ask, "who won?" Because it's, you know, the smaller town mentality, and everyone wants to know who won it. It's really exciting for the people, it gets everybody talking."

Leevers seems to have its own pot of gold.

This isn't the first time they've had a big lottery win: their biggest was 22-thousand dollars.

Jessica: "It gives the store a little bit bigger of a name, and helps people come in and come shop with us. So, we were definitely very excited."

Employees are anxiously awaiting to see who the big winner could be. They say they checked one ticket that they really thought was it. Turned out to be a $100 winner.

As the search continues, employees say make sure to check your tickets.

And be sure you aren't sitting on 10-thousand dollars. The winner has 176 more days to claim his or her prize.
