Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- The City of Fargo is changing up a permit program to make it easier for people to find parking spots downtown.

It's going to change the service vehicle permit policy. Right now, with a 100 dollar service permit, service vehicles may park all day, any day in a spot downtown.

Several business owners expressed concerns, saying that keeps many valuable customers from coming to shop. The city plans to increase permit prices for service vehicles as well as limit the hours they can park.

Bob Stein, Fargo City Senior Planner, says, "from 10 in the morning until 3:30 in the afternoon, which is the peak of the retail demand, we would try to limit the service vehicle parking during those times."
