Tonight is "Cheer-ity Night" in downtown Fargo

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Anyone shopping downtown Fargo tonight had a chance to give back to the community.

Downtown's Shine into the Holidays events are nearing the half way point.

Tonight is "Cheer-ity Night." Stores donate an item for silent auction,

and all of the proceeds then go to the Great Plains Food Bank.

Cari Luchau, c. Lizzy's co-owner, says, "we feel it's important this time of year to make sure they have the food on hand to supply for people especially going into the winter season and we just know they fulfil a really necessary need in our community."

On Saturday the Grinch will be running around downtown.
