Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- We may still be in the opening month of the college basketball season, but that doesn't stop the conference schedule from opening up in the Summit League and that's the scene we have tonight at the BSA as NDSU welcomes an old conference friend, Nebraska-Omaha.

The Bison have started out the year with a 5-2 record including a tournament sweep last week, but now it's time to go into conference mode, knowing how important these games are.

Saul Phillips, NDSU Head Coach, says, "It sneaks up on you a little bit, the importance will not be under stressed in practice and film and everything we do. This one goes toward were you are seeded at, whether or not you are in the run for a championship, whether you are playing for what you want to play for. It's big, real big."

Lawrence Alexander, NDSU Soph. point guard, says, "I think we are gonna be pretty good defensively, we are not perfect, there are things we need to work on but overall I say we are gonna be pretty good defensively and offensively we just move the ball and trust in each other."

NDSU beat UNO 98-65 last year, this is the Mavericks 1st game as a Summit League member.

And a reminder the FCS playoffs return to Fargo in 2 days and we'll have you covered, our pregame show starts at 1 on WDAY.com, followed by the live blog as NDSU and SDSU are set to clash Saturday
