NDSU students and local lawmakers share their ideas and concerns

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Student leaders at NDSU today had a chance to bring their concerns straight to the top.

They hosted state and local lawmakers for the fourth "Higher Education Day."

Students and lawmakers shared their ideas and concerns over lunch. Senator Tim Flakoll, who will chair the Senate Education Committee next session, was among the legislators.

Sen. Tim Flakoll says, "It's very important for me to really fully experience what they want to talk about, to really connect with the students, to make sure they know that at any time, they can contact us and we're willing to listen, be responsive to them, because we work for them."

One big issue on many students' minds is how they're going to pay back their loans.
