MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneapolis police say officers shot and wounded a suspect who had fired a handgun at them.
Police responded late Wednesday night to reports of shots fired. They stopped a car that was leaving the scene, on the suspicion it may have been involved in the gunfire.
The car stopped and a passenger got out and started running.
Police say as they gave chase the man fired a handgun at them. They returned fire and wounded him. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
His name has not been released.
The four officers involved are on three-day paid administrative leave, as is standard practice in shooting-related incidents.
