Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Fargo city officials are trying to tackle a parking problem downtown.
Parking spots generate money for both the city and businesses lining streets like Broadway.
However many spaces get filled by service and construction vehicles, often for a good portion of the day.
The Fargo Parking Commission is looking at revising its Service Vehicle Permit Parking Program.
Possible solutions include set hours for service parking, off street locations, and permit price increases.
Bob Stein, Fargo City Senior Planner: “With a lot of construction happening in downtown Fargo, particularly on Broadway, there’s just been some conflicts between the construction type vehicles and the retail.”
Right now service permits last all day, every day, and cost $100 a year.
