(WDAY TV) -- Retailers are competing for the estimated 52 billion dollars that consumers are expected to shell out for holiday shopping. But not everyone at retail is happy with this year's Black Friday.

Unhappy Walmart employees walked out in many cities across the country, picketing outside of stores demanding respect. Fed up about having to report to work so early on a family holiday.

If you're looking to avoid the chaos, you're not alone.

According to IBM commerce, 68 percent of Black Friday Shoppers are staying

home, opting to do their buying online. Sales for web purchases are up, soaring 18 percent.
