Man is arrested for a high speed chase starting in Wahpeton

Wahpeton, ND (WDAY TV) -- A Missouri man is in jail after leading troopers on a high-speed chase in a stolen car.
It started on I-29 near Wahpeton this morning, and ended about 11 miles into South Dakota. Troopers say 43-year-old Robert Smith reached speeds of 105 miles per hour, before a deputy deployed a tire-deflating device near the border.
The vehicle was stolen from Dickinson. Officers are investigating a similar incident that happened Wednesday in the western part of the state.
