New Town, ND (WDAY TV) - An update to the tragedy that's shaken the small western North Dakota town of New Town.

Authorities are only calling the man who killed himself, hours after four people were murdered in New Town, a "person of interest."

Authorities say they're still trying to determine what role 21-year-old Kalcie Eagle had in the murders. He lived a block from the victims.

64-year-old Martha Johnson, and three of her grandchildren were fatally shot. Her husband and two other grandchildren weren't home at the time.

Martha was a private pilot, helped authorities in the region with searches, and had a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

School in New Town was back on today, with grief counselors and clergy there to help students and staff cope.

The FBI is leading the investigation, because the federal government has jurisdiction over crimes on reservations.
