Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Many students leave high school without some of the financial knowledge they will need to thrive on their own.
The NDSU Legacy Program is trying to help by starting a "Money Matters" seminar for students. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors came from as far as Detroit Lakes to attend.
NDSU students taught them about credit, writing checks, and savings.
Alex Hoffman, Legacy program member, says, "We really get down to the practical applications of it. We'll have them actually write down a check, we'll have them look at a credit card application and fill it out, and pick the one that matches their interests best."
