Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- A local drug trafficking prosecutor is receiving high honors for his body of work.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Myers accepted the 2012 Outstanding Prosecutor Award from the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area.

Usually, the award is given for a specific case, but Myers was chosen for his career. He says it is nice to be recognized, but prosecuting these cases is a team effort.

Myers says, "it's really a team award for law enforcement and North Dakota and Minnesota that work together in these drug trafficking cases, hand-in-hand, every day, on each and every case that we work on."

Recently, Myers prosecuted a synthetic drug ring in Grand Forks after two teens died using the drugs.
